Stand out on your all-electric adventures
Inspired by the original microbus, the all-new ID. Buzz has an instantly iconic shape and an array of vibrant colour options. So whether you’re at the charging station, at the beach, or on a road trip, you’ll be putting a smile on the face of everyone who sees you.
Space for days
The original microbus had lots of space, so why should the all-electric reimagining be any different? The ID. Buzz offers an option of 6 or 7 seats, extra roomy rows, and a flexboard that creates a large flat interior surface for unlimited possibilities. All made possible due to its state-of-the-art MEB platform, huge wheelbase, and short overhangs.
Plus, with an available panoramic glass roof that lets in the sky above, you’ll feel like the ID. Buzz has space for the whole world around you.
Feels good to be first
To celebrate the first year of the ID. Buzz, we created the 1st Edition model and filled it with special features and details to commemorate the occasion. As if bringing back a classic wasn’t special enough.

The many ways to charge your EV

Charging 101
- You can use the “scheduled charging” function to set up your vehicle to automatically charge at certain times of the day. This is especially handy for setting up overnight charging during off-peak electricity hours.
- Once you’ve programmed “scheduled charging”, you can conveniently set it and forget it, knowing that your vehicle will always be charged in the morning.
- Aim for charging up to 80% instead of 100% full. With the lithium-ion batteries in Evs, charging to 80% helps to maintain your battery’s max capacity more than a full charge
- Start recharging your EV when it hits 30% instead of 0%. Letting your EV battery fall completely to 0% before recharging will eventually reduce your EV’s overall battery life.
- While great for recharging quickly on long journeys, DC fast chargers are not recommended for daily use. Like a laptop or cellphone, battery capacity can slowly deteriorate over time with each charge, and DC fast chargers can increase the speed of deterioration if overused. For regular charging, we recommend Level 2 chargers.

Home Charging
Level 1 Home Charging
Level 1 charging is simply done via the cable provided with your vehicle and a regular 120v outlet - no different than charging your phone, really. This will add around 5km of range for every hour it’s charging, reaching a full charge after about 83 hours*. That’s the slow option - for faster and more efficient home charging, you can upgrade to a Level 2 charger.
*Estimated charging times are provided as a reference only. Charging times will vary and depend on a variety of factors, including battery state of charge, driving behaviour, battery condition, current, resistance, ambient temperature, available voltage and charging frequency
Level 2 Home Charging
Many Canadians purchase a Level 2 240v home charging station for their garage. It requires a 240v outlet, similar to one used for a washer or dryer, and VW dealerships can connect you with local electricians for quick and easy home installation. The Level 2 charger can charge your VW from 0%-100% in as little as 6 hours and 15 minutes, which is up to 58 km of range per hour*, so you and your vehicle can wake up ready to go in the morning.
*Estimated charging times are provided as a reference only. Charging times will vary and depend on a variety of factors, including battery state of charge, driving behaviour, battery condition, current, resistance, ambient temperature, available voltage and charging frequency
Purchasing Level 2 Chargers
The Volkswagen 2-in-1 Charging Cable can be purchased through your Volkswagen dealer. Depending on which province you call home, you may be eligible for a rebate:
- In Quebec, the Roulez Vert program offers an additional rebate of $600 with the purchase of the Volkswagen 2-in-1 Charging Cable.◊◊
- If you live in BC in a single-family home, row home or duplex, you could receive a rebate of up to 50% of the purchase and installation costs of an eligible Level 2 EV charger, to a maximum of $350. ◊◊
◊◊ Volkswagen Canada does not administer the incentives and is not responsible for any cancellations or changes to the incentive programs. Incentive information is provided for informational purposes only and Volkswagen Canada makes no representations or warranties about the actual amounts or eligibility. Information about the incentives is based on the most current information provided by the applicable government agencies, but could change in the future. The amount of the incentive, terms and conditions of the incentive, and any eligibility or application requirements vary by province. * BC’s EV charger rebate has different eligibility criteria. Conditions apply. See your dealer for more details or contact the provincial or federal administrator.

Charging on the Go
Level 2 Public Charging
Most public charging stations are equipped with Level 2 charging—the same technology as your Level 2 charger at home. These are also known as “destination chargers” and can be found at malls, restaurants or near local businesses so you can charge your vehicle while going about your day.
DC Fast Chargers
Many public charging stations are also equipped with DC fast chargers which offer the quickest charge times -– capable of providing up to 130km of range in about 10 minutes, or bringing your battery from 10% - 80% in as little as 26 minutes**. These are ideal for when you need to recharge quickly in the middle of a longer trip and you can think of them like an electric gas station, often found at public service stations near highways.
**Estimated charging times are provided as a reference only. Charging times will vary and depend on a variety of factors, including battery state of charge, driving behaviour, battery condition, current, resistance, ambient temperature, available voltage and charging frequency.
Finding Public Chargers
You can use the navigation system in your ID.4 or the Electrify Canada app to find your nearest DC fast charger or public Level 2 charger, and even check the availability for charging at stations close by.
Public Charging Costs
What about paying at the electric pump? Well, as an ID.4 owner, you’ll receive 4 years or up to 1400 kWh of complimentary DC fast charging – whichever your reach first – on the Electrify Canada network.***
***1,400kWh of DC fast charging sessions, available for four years from vehicle purchase. Non-transferable. Not available for commercial use such as ridesharing. Requires Electrify Canada account, app, enrollment in Charging Plan, and acceptance of Terms of Use. After user-initiated charge session stops or vehicle reaches full charge or charging otherwise stops, and 10 minute grace period, idle fees will apply and user is responsible.
